A Life Changing Experience
Your time of extended prayer and fasting offers you the opportunity to discover and grow in the vast interior life that’s inside of you . . . the kingdom of God that Jesus came to proclaim.
During your fast, you can quiet yourself. You can spend more time with God. You can learn the sound of His still small voice. And you can grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ in ways that will change your life forever.
Jesus came to proclaim a powerful truth. The Bible teaches us about it in Mark 1:14-15, “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
The word “repent” in the Greek means “change the way you think.” So Jesus was saying then and is saying now to all who will listen, “Change the way you think about things. There is a new way of life available to you. The kingdom of God is at your fingertips. Believe in the gospel . . . the good new I am sharing about the life you can have.”
Later, when Jesus was asked where this kingdom of God could be found, He said with great clarity, “The kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21
Every born-again man, woman and child has a new interior life that comes inside of them the moment they surrender their lives to the Lord and make Jesus Christ the King of their hearts. The kingdom of God is within. Yet, countless numbers of believers have little experience of this quiet place where the Spirit of God resides.
That’s because people continue to straddle the old and the new that is available to us. The transformation we need is found in the renewal experience. It’s changing the way we think and what we believe. It’s complete repentance and only realized as we submit ourselves to the Lord and kneel at the feet of our Jesus as our Teacher, Guide and the Rabbi of our heart.
The Bible says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2
We don’t renew our minds in our spare time!
Our transformation is the result of daily choosing Jesus. Of coming to Him as our friend and Lord. To learn from God’s Word. And to constantly check our hearts to make sure we are being aligned with the heart of God.
During your 21-day Daniel Fast, you are taking the time to dive deep with the Lord. You are choosing Him every day. You are developing new habits that support your new live in Christ. And you are changing from the inside out!
Be blessed as you continue to grow in the love and knowledge our Lord Jesus Christ.
